SnapBack, Intuition & Imperfect Action: My Takeaways from Mom 2.0

A couple of weeks ago, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Mom 2.0 Conference in Orlando Florida, and let me just say, it was nothing short of transformational. As a founder building SnapBack Returns from the ground up, I didn’t know how much I needed this space to pause, reflect, and be reignited by a community of thinkers, builders, creatives, and fearless women.
Day One: Leadership, Joy & Imperfection
We kicked off the conference with Brené Brown (yes, *the* Brené Brown!) leading a keynote talk on leadership and how it shapes our future. But not in the way we usually expect from leadership. She reminded us that the leaders of tomorrow won’t necessarily come from Ivy League institutions but rather from places we don’t always honor enough: poetry, metaphor, creative thinking, and imagination.
That hit me. Hard. As someone who constantly measures productivity, timelines, and tangible results, Brené’s words reminded me that what we’re building at SnapBack isn’t just functional, it’s imaginative. It’s about rethinking convenience, modern living, and how we take care of ourselves.
Then we heard from Dr. Tiffany Moon, an anesthesiologist and former ‘Real Housewives of Dallas’ cast member. Her new book, ‘Joy Prescriptions’ is all about curating a life that we don’t need a vacation from. And, YES. That resonated deeply.
Then she said something that stopped me in my tracks: “Take imperfect action. Because then you are moving in the right direction. Launch before you’re ready because that is the only way you learn.”
I couldn’t help but think about SnapBack Returns. I’ve often caught myself overthinking, over-polishing, waiting for the “perfect” time, the “perfect” design. But maybe that perfection is slowing me down. Maybe “done” is better than perfect.
The day ended with a challenge from Michelle Gifford, a marketing CEO and business strategist: Choose 1 to 3 things that you can do this week and DO IT.
Take the immediate, imperfect action. There it was again, this theme whispering to me all day. From Dr. Moon to Michelle Gifford… The universe was giving me a nudge.
Day Two: Timing, Power & Courage
Day two opened with Ashley Stahl, a counterterrorism professional turned highly sought-after career coach, and I can still hear her mantra echoing in my mind: “There is no power on Earth that can stop an idea whose time has come.”
I wanted to jump out of my seat. Because if there’s ever been a moment where I felt like SnapBack’s time has come, it’s now. We’re piloting doorstep return pickups, listening to our users, and finally watching our idea take flight.
The conference ended with a powerful fireside chat with Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action. It was a conversation about courage and about no longer waiting for someone else to fix the problem.
She left us with a quote that’s still rattling in my bones: “If you don’t have a seat at the table, you’re probably on the menu. And women are the main course.”
Talk about a wake-up call. It made me think back to Brené’s opening keynote: “What kind of power do we have, and how are we choosing to use it?”
My Biggest Takeaway
The common thread through every speaker and every conversation, was this: Don’t wait. Take imperfect action. Trust your intuition. Move forward.
So here I am launching, testing, iterating, and learning out loud with SnapBack. Because this idea’s time has come. And I’m summoning the courage to keep going.
If you’ve been sitting on something powerful, something that matters, consider this your *universe wink*, too.
