The True Cost of Returns: Your favorite fast fashion brands are slapping you with fees!

So, you thought you scored a killer deal on that trendy outfit online? Think again! When it comes to returns, fast fashion retailers are more than happy to slap you with hidden fees.

1. Zara

Want to return that ill-fitting fashion faux pas? Get ready to fork over $4.95 for the privilege.

Pro Tip: Bring your items back to the store and your return is free!

2. H&M

Affordable fashion? More like affordable annoyance. H&M charges a $5.99 “return shipping fee” that’s basically a restocking fee in disguise. Sneaky, sneaky.

Pro Tips:

  • Sign up to become an H&M Member and returns are $2.99
  • Returns are free for Plus Members *you must reach 400 points to reach Plus Member Status

3. Shein

The budget fashionista’s favorite… until you try to make a few returns. Your first return is free but if you need to make another within the same order, that will cost you a whopping $7.99. No thanks!

4. ASOS

The fashion powerhouse comes with a catch. While returns are free in the US (lucky you!) international customers better brace themselves for some serious return shipping fees.

5. Forever 21

If you’ve had a change of heart after that impulse buy, sorry to report that will cost you a $5.99 return fee.

While return and restocking fees are irritating,  retailers implement these policies to cover the costs associated with processing and inspecting returns; and to help discourage excessive returns as well as return abuse.

Make sure to check the retailer’s return policy next time you add to cart! And next time you need to make a return, SnapBack has your back!

You’ll never:

🫰 Leave your home to make a return

🫰 Stand in line at UPS, FedEx or the Post Office

🫰 Miss your refund
